Dr Gillian Vogl's co-edited book with Peter Kell is now available. The book is titled "Global Student Mobility in the Asia Pacific: Mobility, migration, security and wellbeing of international students." The chapters in the book explore complex and diverse aspects of transational education with a particular focus on the cultural and social needs of international students with regard to both the institutions in which they study and social inclusion in their host communities. Dr Vogl and this book has been featured in The Macquarie Globe's Edition 28, 2010.
Dr Lorraine Gibson, a Vice Chancellor Innovation Fellow from CRSI, has been honoured with a prestigious 2009 Alumni Award for Distinguished Service. These awards were created to honour Macquarie graduates for their outstanding achievements and contributions made both locally and internationally in community service and in their professional endeavours.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Steven Schwartz, praised the award winners for their service and dedication.
"Not only have they made positive and significant contributions in their chosen professions, they have shared their knowledge and experience with the wider community and so enriching society as a whole," he said. Lorraine's work can be viewed here (mp4 format, flv format)
