| Research Interests: | Lorraine is a social anthropologist whose work engages with both theoretical and applied aspects relating to Aboriginal Australia in the areas of, work, identity and social placement; race relations; socio-economic conditions; capacity building; cultural emotions; intra-cultural politics; material culture; Aboriginal visual art; the cultural meanings of water. Lorraine’s work employs both quantitative and qualitative methodologies but with an emphasis on the ethnographic practise of fieldwork and analytic writing as a valued method of social and cultural inquiry. |
