The Senses, Globalisation and Postcolonialism

This research group has been examining various approaches to place-making in and through the senses, in the context of globalisation and postcolonialism. So far topics have included:  distinctions between place/space; place making among Filipina domestic workers in Hong Kong; the operation of scale in different levels of spatial experience and social relations; and the role of haptic sensibility in new technology. Activities so far have included a reading group.
