Research Students
The Centre provides an exciting context for interdisciplinary research. Students may be supervised by one of our full-time researchers. Current available supervisors are:
- Dr Amanda Wise
- Dr Selvaraj Velayutham
See Centre Staff for their research profiles. Students wishing to enrol in the centre may elect to have a co-supervisor from among our academic members.
Undertaking a research degree in the Centre provides experiences not typically offered in a teaching department. At any one time we have several major research projects running and a number of research partnerships with government and community sector partners. Students have the opportunity to work as research assistants on Centre projects and will benefit from the research intensive interdisciplinary environment offered.
CRSI accepts students from a wide range of backgrounds in the humanities and social sciences including anthropology, cultural studies, philosophy, human geography, and sociology.
Alternatively, students wishing to enroll in one of our contributing academic departments may become graduate student members of the centre and participate in our graduate student activities.
We invite students with research interests related to the Centre's research to contact the Centre Manager (crsi@scmp.mq.edu.au) in the first instance.
Eligibility
Candidates should possess a bachelor degree with first class honours or second class honours division 1, or a Masters degree with a substantial research component.
Alternative pathways to our PhD program are detailed in Macquarie University's Pathways to a PhD guide, which you can download here.
